La Petite Robe Noire ($150) from Guerlain Boutique Fragrances captures the always appropriate, essential essence of the little black dress, which in this case, is designed by Serge Mansau and worn as a lacquered image on the back side of the brand’s legendary upside down heart-shaped ”mythic” bottle, supplied by Pochet. Rexam provided the closure. The name of the fragrance appears on the front of the bottle in a handwritten script. The fragrance was composed by drom’s perfumer Delphine Jelk in collaboration with the artistic director of Guerlain Fragrances, Sylvaine Delacourte, and is described as a celebration of contrasts between the spiciness of black licorice and the delicate nature of rose. All formulations are biodegradable, containing 86% to 95% natural, plant-based ingredients and no sulphates or colorants; fruit extracts are ethically and locally harvested. Environmental criteria were also applied to the package design to minimize the amount of material used.
